Situated on a small river called the Sielle off the river Saône between Tournus and Macon, La Truchere is the ideal place for a round trip in the Bresse / Beaujolais region.

Tournus

On the Saône river just to the north, this magnificent town boasts the Romanesque church of Saint Philibert. This is one of the oldest and the most well preserved in Burgundy.

Macon.

On the River Saône just to the south, Macon is the capital of the region and home to fine epicurien shopping in the town center. The boat can be moored in the heart of the city with fine views of the Saint Laurent bridge.

Chalon sur Saône: This Episcopal town is 2000 years old. Its historic centre is well preserved. Nicéphore Niepce, the inventor of photography, was born there.
